Position Overview

The Program Operations Lead will manage all aspects of program operations, systems, and processes in order to deliver high quality programs to Butler University students. Reporting to the Director of Program Success and Innovation, the Program Operations Lead will develop and document processes and procedures for programs, as well as provide any necessary faculty training. The Ops Lead will provide continuous improvement feedback to program development teams, in order to ensure an online learning experience that redefines educational and technological expectations.

The lead will play a role in supporting cross-functional initiatives for new program launch and ongoing success. This position requires excellent business acumen, strong communication skills, experience collaborating across teams to ensure success, organizational skills, project management skills, as well as versatility, flexibility, discretion and diplomacy, and a passion for improving service delivery for students.

Primary Responsibilities

    Plans, develops, and executes cross-functional program management that aids in the evaluation and implementation of new program development, launch and on-going operational management strategies designed to meet the goals for the university.

    Creates and manages work groups to accomplish projects and tasks within the Program Success & Innovation office.

    Provides direct oversight and manages short- and long-term allocation of financial resources for all teams; develops and communicates budget-related processes to ensure fiscal responsibility and adherence to university policy.

    Facilitates consultant and senior level contracts, routing through the Program Success & Innovation Director

    Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible professional experience, preferably in education administration/higher education

    Experience managing new program development and on-going success

    Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative, financial, and policy-driven responsibilities

    Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and an ability to adjust according to audience

    Ability to trouble-shoot, problem-solve, and anticipate issues needing resolution

    Ability to work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced and adaptive environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and professional

    Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet frequent and changing deadlines

    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel

    Demonstrable polished professionalism, ease and agility in interacting with executive leadership, board of trustees and other c-suite professionals

    An ability to anticipate needs and operationalize quickly

Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree along with progressive responsibility and demonstrated success at a senior level, with a proven track record of:

    Leading with integrity and transparency;

    Collaborating on idea development and strategy implementation;

    Effectively utilizing outcome-based decision making;

    Project Management with Online program development

    Experience managing a multimillion dollar budget.

Evidence of creative and analytical problem solving, excellent communication and a customer service oriented approach. Relationship building skills with both internal and external constituents and success in working with a diverse work environment. A strategic thinker who is comfortable working in a collaborative environment and interested in exploring new and innovative models for higher education.
