JOB SUMMARY: This position is a full-time, non-tenure track, 10-month academic year Lecturer of Teacher Education position available in the Department of Teacher Education and Social Work. This position will teach in the Elementary/Special Education teacher education program and work collaboratively with colleagues and students in a creative inclusive learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching five courses each semester including fully online, face to face, and courses involving placement experiences.
  • Service to the program, department, university and community.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Program Director, Department Chair or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s in Education or a related field
  • 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in grades P-5 or special education
  • Evidence of teaching excellence
  • Ability to effectively engage with colleagues, staff and administrators to develop ways to improve the educational experience of students
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated capacity and interest for collaborative teaching
  • Knowledge of academic assessment practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education Specialist or Doctorate (PhD or EdD) in education or a related field
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education
  • Prior experience as a mentor teacher

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.
