Job Details

American International College (AIC) seeks in its eleventh President an experienced, strategic, and entrepreneurial leader to build on the College’s strengths and mission, improving its financial standing through new programs and initiatives resulting in increased revenue generation.

Founded in 1885, AIC is a residential college located in the heart of Springfield, MA. A learning community strongly committed to access and student success, AIC’s 65 full-time and 156 adjunct faculty offer a wide variety of educational programs to a highly diverse student population of approximately 1,380 undergraduate and 1,240 graduate students. Academic programs include traditional liberal arts majors, various specialties in business administration and teacher education, and growing professional programs in nursing, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.

American International College has flourished in the early 21st century with dramatic growth in graduate and online enrollments, the expansion of academic and athletic programs and facilities, significant technological upgrades, and continued emphasis on providing access and opportunity to a diverse student body. Building on this positive momentum, AIC is committed to becoming the leading regional private college of access, opportunity, and diversity by emphasizing three niche areas:

  1. A diverse campus community located in an urban setting where students are prepared at a higher functional level of cultural literacy and sensibility;
  2. The strong connection between cocurricular experiences, athletics, and academics; and
  3. Student centricity, cultural awareness and a strong liberal arts foundation that ensures AIC graduates are successful in the workforce.

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of AIC, reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. AIC’s next President will elevate the College’s financial strength through new revenue generation and academic program development, honor its commitment to serving the underserved through ongoing attention to student success, deepen a culture of caring and community where faculty, staff and students know they are valued, and ensure that AIC continues to transform the lives of students, their families, and the communities in which they live and work.
