Capital University's Media Department invites applications for one full-time position with a start date of August 2022:

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Media with an emphasis in Film and Media Production. PhD in relevant field is preferred; will also consider an MFA with substantial evidence of potential to earn tenure. Successful university level teaching experience is required. Teaching load is 4/4.

Applicants should be able to teach a broad range of courses in media production and in two or more of the following areas: video and/or radio production, motion graphics, media criticism and analysis, media writing, media management, and/or social media. Experience running a college radio or television studio highly desired. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Audio for Video, and Motion Graphics preferred. Opportunity for curricular innovation. Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate scholarship and teaching in liberal arts education. In addition to teaching, the position requires faculty who can manage program resources, supervise undergraduate projects, serve on department and university committees, and advise students academically. Those considered for tenure track must have an active research agenda.
