Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Statistics seeks qualified candidates for two Assistant Professor positions in applied mathematics beginning Fall 2022. The successful candidate will be joining a department with more than 35 full-time faculty members, over 400 majors and minors across 7 undergraduate programs in mathematics, statistics, and data science, and 2 master’s programs. The position requires teaching a range of math courses, from lower-level courses that serve non-science students to upper-level and graduate-level courses in mathematics and applied mathematics; developing and maintaining a quality research program; and providing service at the department, the university, and the scientific community level.

The candidate will have a Ph.D. in an area of mathematics at the time of appointment. Candidates for the position must have shown evidence for developing and maintaining a research program, with the potential for grant funding. Candidates working in an area of applied mathematics that aligns with others in the department, broadly defined, are particularly desirable. Additionally, the candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to undergraduate education, including interest in inclusive teaching practices. The candidate also should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
