Educational and Experience Requirement:

Associates degree in related field. Three years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Performs advanced administrative assistant duties for the SHSU Honors College.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs advanced administrative assistant duties. Provides departmental or University information to students, departments, and staff. Assists in developing policies and interprets policies and procedures. Schedules appointments and activities. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Attends meetings and takes notes. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes documents and correspondence. Assists with the planning, scheduling, and supervising work of student employees. Coordinates events for the Honors College. Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and venues. Plans event details and aspects, including seating, dining, and guest registration. Oversees the Honors Application process and recruitment, as well as marketing and communications for the Honors College. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
