Emerson College seeks a part-time affiliated faculty member to teach one section of
On Camera Acting for our Spring 2022 semester. On Camera Acting is a newly required class for second semester sophomores as part of the core curriculum of our BFA Theatre and Performance Program.

This section will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from either 12:00pm - 2:45pm or
1:00pm - 3:45pm (time TBD). All classes will be in-person (Covid permitting) on our Boston campus. Our Spring semester runs from January 10, 2022 to April 28, 2022.

Ideal candidates will have significant professional experience and achievement in the field of film/television acting, an appropriate advanced degree in hand (preferred), and experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Candidates should also have IMDB credits and be a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Additionally, ideal candidates will have an established pedagogy around diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom, and will teach through a social justice and anti-racist framework. BIPOC candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Department of Performing Arts is home to one of the nation's leading programs in theatrical performance, design, stage management, and theatre education. With a team of 90 full and part-time faculty and theatre staff members, the department enrolls 530 students in nine distinct undergraduate programs and one graduate program. The department offers BFA degrees in Theatre, Theatre Education, Theatre Design Technology, Stage & Screen Design Technology, Stage & Production Management, Musical Theatre, Acting, Theatre & Performance, and Theatre Education & Performance; general education courses in theatre studies; and an MA/MFA degree in Theatre Education and Applied Theatre. Emerson Stage, the production organization within the department, produces eight to ten fully staged major productions annually in five theatres, with additional production opportunities available to our students through curricular projects, student theatre organizations and ArtsEmerson— the College's professional presenting company.
