Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, create, execute and analyze email campaigns as part of strategic marketing and communications efforts to both on and off campus constituents with a goal-oriented focus. Assign priorities to various campaigns and advise on content updates, edits and best practice formatting. Ensure emails are both relevant and impactful for the target audience to achieve successful open rates and engagement. Collaborate with project managers within the division and with other institutional teams to facilitate ongoing marketing and communications strategies.

 

Serve as a subject matter expert and gatekeeper of campus-wide email communications. Help identify and clarify campaign goals, vet and ensure all messages adhere to TU guidelines and advise internal departments and divisions on necessary campaign updates to meet set standards. Collect and manage contact lists for sends. Update contact records and CRM data when necessary.

 

Manage daily TU Today and weekly Events@TU emails for campus-wide distribution. Act as primary owner of the TU Today website. Create and post content for internal teams throughout TU. Onboard and train editors from across campus who are granted permissions to add content. Lead ongoing communications to editors to inform proper use of the site. 

 

Implement, facilitate and revise a real-time, centralized, master-calendar of campus email-based communications. Determine and set campaign sends based on audience preference and ensure competing communications and duplicate messages are reworked, rescheduled or reprioritized based on the primary institutional goals.

 

Serve as a primary point of contact between the Division of Marketing and Communications and the Office of Technology Services for SalesForce questions. Alert OTS to system issues. Send complete, thorough and properly formatted lists of new contacts for creation of new constituent records. Contribute to monthly user group meetings and identify areas for improvement for use of Salesforce throughout campus.

 

Actively learn and master new skills within the Salesforce environment through online trainings on a quarterly basis (and as new features and software upgrades are made available) and lead internal training/instruction for other marketing and communication team members who are required to use the software as part of their roles. Help to cross train other team members for redundancy of skills and tasks.



Qualifications and Skills
Successful candidates will have...

    Bachelor's degreeAt least 1-2 years of experience using Salesforce CRM and/or TargetX for Salesforce.Ability to create and edit html emails and basic knowledge of html coding.Understanding of email marketing best practices including send times, content, subject line creation, prioritization of messaging and appropriate calls to action.Strong analytical skills including the ability to process data, compile reports and interpret campaign results in order to optimize marketing and communication efforts.Willingness to work collaboratively with many project managers. Proficiency in communicating, including excellent writing and copyediting skills.Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects at once. A commitment to diversity and inclusion with an openness to new ideas, new people and new working situations.An interest in growing personally and professionally with a passion for learning new skills
Preferred

    Salesforce certification is helpful, but not required. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and journey building preferred.
