The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor (M.D., D.O., M.B.B.S.), Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Assistant Professor (M.D., D.O., M.B.B.S.) - This position with the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, involves care of patients through the consultation service through the Hospital Services inpatient units, as well as liaison opportunities to medical and surgical outpatient clinics. A smaller amount of time could be allocated for general psychiatry outpatient services in the main Psychiatry clinic. Principal teaching duties would include providing instruction to medical students and residents in the Consultation Liaison Service. We will facilitate the interests of a candidate who is desires leading pre-clinical medical student case-based learning small groups. On call expectations include telephone call two weeknights per month and weekend call with Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday approximately once every three months. Weekend call involves conducting inpatient rounds in the AU Medical Center Emergency Department and on AU Medical Center medical floors on patients being followed by the department's Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service.Required Qualifications MD, DO or MBBS degree from an accredited college or university, Georgia license eligibility, Psychiatry board certification or eligibility are required.Shift/Salary Academic rank, tenure status and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.Conditions of Employment All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review. For specific positions, the final candidate may be subject to a (pre-employment) physical, drug screen, and/or credit check.
