Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of higher education policy and/or regulations such as State Authorization and Reciprocity Agreements. Education, training and/or experience as a paralegal, or that which leads to the understanding of legal jargon used in state/federal regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience in web design and/or use of content management systems.Responsibilities The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assure compliance with State and federal Authorization regulations related to distance education by maintaining a database of current requirements for all states, territories, and other jurisdictions relevant to the conduct of online/distance educational activities by institutions of higher education based in other jurisdictions; maintaining a database of Augusta University's operations outside of Georgia; conducting all necessary communications with state and other jurisdictions as required to obtain and maintain necessary authorization to conduct educational activities.
  • Carry out all applications, communications, database maintenance and reporting necessary to assure that AU provides general and direct notifications to prospective and enrolled students whether the institution's curriculum meets state educational requirements in each state for programs leading to professional licensure or certification regardless of modality of instruction.
  • Work closely with the Instructional Design Manager to develop, implement and maintain quality assurance processes, procedures, and documentation related to blended/online learning and digital instructional materials. Examples might include faculty certification to teach online, Quality Matters course reviews, online teaching observations, accessibility of digital instructional materials.
  • Manage process for initiating approval for online programs.
  • Work with all Augusta University academic units to maintain and update Georgia on My Line (GOML) web information.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Summary The Instructional Designer will assure compliance with State Authorization and federal regulations by carrying out all communications, database maintenance, and reporting necessary to assure that Augusta University’s programs receive the authorizations, waivers, or other documentation required to operate legally in the states and territories of the United States as well as foreign jurisdictions as required. This includes oversight for online degree programs, online courses offered to non-matriculated students, clinical education, as well as postgraduate and continuing education programs. This individual will work with academic departments to ensure each online and licensure program meets federal reporting requirements. This position will also play a key role in quality assurances processes for blended and online learning. Responsible for managing campus-wide compliance efforts to meet regulatory requirements for distance education activities. Research and implement best practices related to regulatory compliance in collaboration with various university administrators and colleagues from other organizations.Shift/Salary Shift: M-F/8a-5p (Work outside of the normal business hours may be required.)
