Craft Specialist III - Athletic Plant Maintenance

This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics Facilities & Grounds with the overall maintenance of Athletic facilities and maintenance equipment. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Strip, clean, buff and apply different cleaners and sealers to the multiple surfaces throughout all athletic facilities.Operation and maintenance of power tools included but not limited to pressure washers, blowers, drills, saws and pneumatic tools.Ensure that all maintenance equipment is kept in proper working condition specified by manufacture’s guidelinesAssist with inventory control of cleaning material.Assist with security/lockdown of multiple athletic facilities when not in use.Paint various surfaces including but not limited to concrete, cinderblock, railings, and metal, Inspects and notifies the maintenance crew leader when there is concern of a major repair at an athletic facility.Works athletic special events as assigned. Nights and weekends work sometime required.
    Makes recommendations for new equipment purchases as needed.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Education:      High school degree or equivalent

Experience:     2 years of of maintenance and/or mechanical background

Skills:   Knowledge and experience in tasks associated with general facility maintenance. Experience operating and/or maintaining maintenance equipment. Small engine and equipment mechanical skills desired.
