    The Senior Director of Student Affairs serves as a senior leader in the division with significant responsibility for managing the university-wide efforts on student success as well as strategic initiatives that drive persistence and completion. Mount Mary University serves an undergraduate population with over 60% of students identifying as students of color. This position will also focus on student success work through the lens of equity and inclusion.

    Primary Responsibilities:

      Achieve a comprehensive and integrated approach to improving retention and timely graduation rates of all students by providing collaborative leadership and strategic guidance across divisions while serving as the university chief retention officer. Provide institutional focus on supporting historically marginalized students towards success. Assist in the development of strategic restructuring of student affairs division to maximize a student success focus and then supervise 1-2 functional areas within the division, dependent on past areas of experience. Oversee the implementation of the student success framework while collaborating across the entire university to identify additional needs and best practices. Assist in developing cross-functional relationships and student-success literacy with all campus constituents. The framework includes Bold Beginnings, a first-year experience initiative, which includes management of the Mount Mary Mentor program. Collaborate on academic advising, coordinated registration team, the Higher Education Regional Alliance and the admissions committee.Manage division-wide assessment, data analysis, and learning outcomes to make data-informed decisions that focus on continuous improvement. Provide support for crisis response, Title IX, and conduct.Serve as a senior leader within the division of student affairs, representing the division as needed and in the absence of the Vice President. Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned.
    Skills and Experience:

      Earned Master's degree in higher education administration (or similar degree).At least five years of progressive professional experience within higher education, with some service at the director level.
      Experience related to student success, persistence, and/or retention.Knowledge of diverse students' needs, including students who are first-generation, Pell-eligible, and those from historically marginalized backgrounds.Characterized as a strategic thinker; proactive problem-solver; solutions-oriented and hands-on; willing to operate at both strategic and tactical levels as needed; team player.
