The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Assistant Professor of Statistics to begin in fall 2022. This position will integrate with existing programmatic and faculty expertise in the College of Science and Humanities to teach courses required for the Husson University General Education curriculum and the mathematics minor. Mathematics faculty also teach core courses required for science degrees within the college, including Biology, Exercise Science, and Health Sciences programs. Husson’s multidisciplinary focus provides an array of collaborative opportunities to further the candidate’s research agenda. Duties and Responsibilities:

Husson University is a private institution of approximately 3500 undergraduate and graduate students located in Bangor, Maine. Teaching responsibilities include courses in statistics and upper-level courses within the candidate’s area of specialization, based on the needs of the department. The position requires teaching 24 credits per academic year. The successful candidate will also fulfill faculty expectations for advising, service, and scholarship. The position involves service to the College, participation in admissions events, and interaction with the internal and external community in a collegial and professional manner at all times. Note: This is a face-to-face faculty position; candidates are expected to be on campus.
Requirements for the position include an earned terminal degree in statistics, statistics education, or an associated field; Ph.D. preferred, master’s degree with experience or ABD considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to effective teaching and student learning, as well as the ability to collaborate across disciplines to develop outstanding educational opportunities for students. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching courses at the university level. EEO Statement:
