We invite you to come grow with us at a unique institution where our employees are our greatest contributors to the legacy of achievement and promise that is Augusta University.Job Summary The Counselor Education Program in the Department of Advanced Studies and Innovation at Augusta University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Counselor Education starting in Academic Year 2022-2023. The Counselor Education Program offers CACREP-accredited specializations in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling at the master’s level. The ideal candidate has the background and knowledge to contribute to the core content areas at the master’s level. The program is housed in one of the fastest growing departments in the college.Responsibilities Major responsibilities include: (1) instruction of master's level courses in a face-to-face, hybrid or online formats; (2) supervision of counseling students and interns; (3) establish a productive research agenda; (4) assist with student admissions and advisement; (5) cooperative work with agencies, schools, and the larger regional mental health community and (6) service at the department, college, and university levels. We welcome applicants with teaching and research expertise in any area relevant to school counseling or clinical mental health counseling, and we will work with the successful candidate to create a teaching schedule that aligns with their training, experience, and interests. Preferred Qualifications A concentration in School Counseling at the master’s or doctoral level; evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g. published articles, book chapters, books, and/or professional conference presentations); and experience with online teaching.Other Information This position is also responsible for promoting a customer friendly environment and providing superior service to our patients, students, faculty, and employees. Prior counseling work experience; prior college teaching experience; professional identity with the counseling profession through membership in professional counseling organizations; licensed or license eligible as a school counselor or professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia.
