Departmental Objective:

Our mission is to serve quality products with fast and friendly service in a clean atmosphere.

Purpose of the Position:

The position prepares front of the house operation necessary for the efficient and timely service of meals to residential students and guests. It assigns and monitors jobs/activities of subordinate personnel and ensures acceptable presentation of dining room. Additionally, during special events/picnics, this position coordinates all front of the house needs in accordance with quality assurance guidelines and sanitation for customer needs.

Required:

Ability to demonstrate enthusiastic and outgoing personality

Must be highly energetic and extroverted

Ability to communicate in writing or verbally to both supervisors and subordinates

Demonstrated basic math skills

Good organizational skills

Ability to monitor multiple tasks concurrently

Ability to be available to work from 12 pm – 8:30 pm including Sunday

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required: Previous experience in preparing/cleaning dining room for meal service. Previous retail and cash handling experience. Previous supervisory experience.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Education Preferred: ServSafe certified

Experience Preferred: Previous experience with special event set-up. Previous experience at a college/university. Previous experience as host/hostess of a restaurant or dining room.

$24,000 - $30,767

Conditions of Employment:

Per the Governor’s order, as a state employee, you would be required to disclose vaccine status. If you are fully vaccinated, you must provide documents confirming this status. The Governor requires that all employees who are unvaccinated, or not yet fully vaccinated to be tested weekly until they are fully vaccinated. This is a condition of employment.

This is a classified position. New and returning classified employees are required to complete a 12-month probationary period;
