Job Details
Provide vision,leadership, and decision-making for the career development function of the CareerServices department. Lead efforts to create a comprehensive student careerdevelopment program that guides students through career exploration to includepreparing for internships and other pre-professional opportunities. Providedirect supervision to career counseling (consultants) professional staff.Liaison with program and department chairs and faculty for purposes of programmingand event planning. Serves as primary liaison with Military Service Center toprovide career development to military service members and veterans. Developand oversee peer advising program to provide differentiated service delivery;interview, train and supervise career peer ambassadors. Provide input intowebsite content, social media and online electric resources. Assist inproviding strategic leadership and direction of the Career Services department.
Qualifications:Education/experience/licensing:
- Master's degree in student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or related area preferred with minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience or
- Bachelor's degree required with minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in student advising, career counseling, employer relations, curriculum development, human resources, data analysis and program assessment, preferably in a higher education environment
- Experience supervising students and/or professional staff
- Demonstrated skills in program development and administration
- Understanding of career development process/theory
Communicationand other skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Creative thinker/planner, innovative and idea-rich
- Proven attention to detail, organizational abilities
- Capacity to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered
