Job Description:

Budget and Financial Analysis:
Develop and negotiate clinical trial budgets for assigned projects, departments and divisions.
Acts as a liaison between Principal Investigator (PI), administrators, agency officials, as well as federal, state, and local; interacts closely with PI and their associates to provide technical assistance during the development process of clinical research budgets and agreements; and provides guidance to departmental staff, investigators, and research administrators on sponsor and UF policy and requirements.
Reviews, compares and approves prospective billing plans and billing plan amendments are matched to all other study documentation to promote compliance with human subjects and services federal, state and institutional regulatory requirements.
Works with hospital, physician practice and investigators to verify protocol schedule of events correlate to confirmation of services and pricing.

CTMS Support and Development:
Implement negotiated budgets, billing grids, and other CTMS relevant data in OnCore.
Provide post award financial managers with internal budgets that aid in study financial management. Serve as an ongoing resource to post award staff.
Ensure assigned OnCore task lists items are completed accurately and updated in a timely fashion.
Assist in financial review of OnCore calendars for new study activations and study budget amendments.

OCR Operational Involvement:
Participates in developing work plans and links individual objectives to work group or organizational objectives
Implements or supports various change management activities
Collaborates with the Office of Research, the Office of General Counsel, University’s Institutional Review Board, and the Office of Technology Licensing, as needed, to develop accurate and compliant contracts related to human subject research.
Maintains collaborative and productive business relationships within the University and with its external sponsors.
May participate in University workgroups focused on process development and changes.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of experience in sponsored program administration
Working knowledge of the university research environment in an academic medical center; familiarity with federal and state regulations and compliance issues effecting Universities and health systems as noted above.
Demonstrated ability to work with detailed financial data and analyze financial information, create reports and tracking tools, and interpret and apply complex regulations and contract terms.
Demonstrated experience in clinical research administration and/or financial management in an academic/medical setting strongly preferred.
Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and accounting principles required. Ability to work independently, interact professionally and possess effective writing and organizational skills.
