Administrative Support Assistant

Position Summary

As a member of the Administrative Support Services Team, duties will include providing, coordinating and overseeing the administrative and operational activities of a multifaceted IT unit; providing administrative support to the Executive Director in the facilitation of procurement, department reporting, personnel forms/requirements, financial tracking/reconciliation, administrative process improvement, and department level projects.

MSU Information Technology provides the primary leadership for strategic, financial, and policy initiatives affecting information technology (IT) across MSU. MSU IT offers technology resources that support MSU’s mission of providing education, conducting research, and advancing engagement.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office procedures, or in performing responsibilities related to the operational activities of the employing unit; experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge with MSU financial, procurement and human resources applications.

Experience in writing reports and report writing tools. Business planning or business process mapping experience.

Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with business partners and stakeholders.

Experience with analyzing data, root cause analysis, and report generation that can be consumed by varied campus partners.
