Description
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is looking to hire a Marketing Specialist who, in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, will develop and execute an email marketing communication plan geared towards students applying to Georgia State University.  This position will also work on the AdmitHub Chatbot system, as well as with other departments on email campaigns.
Examples of duties:
Email Marketing Communications

    Draft, build and maintain effective email marketing communications for Admissions recruiting and Admissions sponsored events using Slate CRM system as related to recruitment calendar.Work within established brand and style standards in messaging across channels.Analyze and report on email campaign results, highlighting successes, trends, and opportunities. Maintain formal process to update and share findings internally and with key external stakeholders.Timely creation and sending of planned email marketing campaigns, including set-up, and testing to ensure messages are sent in proper form and template.Establish communication flows for new audiences aligned with marketing strategy for specific student, parent, and counselor segments.Write and edit creative promotional literature, newsletters, direct marketing material, and internet marketing projects.Troubleshoot issues with email deployment and creation. Research and resolve specific issues with specific students to improve communication effectiveness Pull requested data from Slate for Admissions Counselors and external partners.Develop or review queries for communications, particularly Ad Hoc messaging.Monitors all marketing related processes; implements improvements to enhance marketing productivity.Develop and maintain a database list.Create content for Admissions blog.Stay on top of latest trends and best practices in email marketing.
AdmitHub Chatbot

    Develop and deploy content for Admit Hub text messaging system.Manage and update Chatbot knowledge base as necessary.Manage triage logs for Chatbot inquiries.Liaise with team managing Retention Bot for various alignment processes.
External Collaboration

    Liaise with campus partners to coordinate, create, and execute email campaigns (e.g., Student Financial Services, New Student Orientation, Housing, etc.).Work with the data and technology team to purge non-deliverable email addresses and opt-outs, as well as maintaining population rules and queriesWork with data and technology team to institute effective workflows to communicate with target audiences (email and publication exports/mailings).Work with PRMC as necessary to obtain branded visual elements and landing pages for digital communications.Provide Admissions content ideas to university social media team.
Other Admissions Support

    Train Admissions staff (and others as needed) on how to use basic Slate deliver tools.Other duties as assigned


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

More than 50,000 students annually attend Georgia State University. While 90 percent of the students are from Georgia, students also come from all 50 states and 160 countries. In addition to the numerous degree programs, Georgia State offers full- and part-time programs and day, evening and weekend classes.

Students have many choices in extracurricular activities including more than 22 fraternities and sororities; and some 250 chartered student groups, including 60 degree-related student groups, seven religious, 24 law-oriented and 22 multicultural/international groups; and 10 honor societies. There is also an active student government association which includes the student senate and the judicial board.

The Georgia State Panthers are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and compete in 16 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and volleyball. The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.

The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
