Position Summary:

This position includes direct clinical care, teaching, supervision, and program development duties, with a focus on providing integrated behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families who are seen in academic medical center primary care settings. This is a faculty position with rank commensurate with the applicant’s experience. Integrated services within, but not limited to Pediatric Primary Care and other pediatric subspecialty clinics.

Please note, this is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Provide integrated behavioral health services in a large residency training clinicProvide integrated behavioral health services in a primary care clinic for children with medical complexityDeliver individual, family, and group-based services including early childhood and prevention/health promotion interventionsConsult with pediatric primary care teams around addressing behavioral health and environmental factors that impact child well-being, and collaborate closely with resource partners including social work, family navigators, and community health liaisons to deliver comprehensive, team-based careUse evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of behavioral, developmental, and mental health concernsSupervise trainees, other mental health providers, and pediatric health professionalsEngage in teaching and scholarship, including collaboration on grants and contracts with hospital and community partners
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at

Instructor: $90,000 to $105,000.

Senior Instructor: $90,000 to $105,000.

Assistant Professor: $90,000 to $105,000.

Associate Professor:  $113,000 to $130,000.

Professor:  $162,000 to $200,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Minimum Qualifications

Instructor: 

  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
  • PhD and/or PsyD
  • Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.
  • Must have significant prior experience in a primary care setting serving children and adolescents
  • Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship 
Senior Instructor:

  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
  • PhD and/or PsyD
  • Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.
  • Must have significant prior experience in a primary care setting serving children and adolescents
  • Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship
Assistant Professor

  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
  • PhD and/or PsyD
  • Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.
  • Must have significant prior experience in a primary care setting serving children and adolescents
  • Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship 
Associate Professor: 

  • 4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
  • PhD and/or PsyD
  • Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.
  • Must have significant prior experience in a primary care setting serving children and adolescents
  • Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship 
Professor

  • 7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience
  • PhD and/or PsyD
  • Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.
  • Must have significant prior experience in a primary care setting serving children and adolescents
  • Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including an APA-approved internship 
Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks)

    Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience after completion of postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology and/or child and adolescent psychology Experience working with pediatric populations with medical complexity, in early childhood, and with familiesDemonstrated skills in the use of developmentally and diagnostically appropriate screening and assessment toolsDemonstrated skills using evidence-based treatment models including but not limited motivational strategies, consultation models, and flexible application of behavioral and developmental therapiesAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team model and with colleagues, medical specialists, and traineesExperience and skill in consulting with professional colleagues and staff Commitment to multiculturalism and experience with diverse populationsAbility to deliver services in Spanish is strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Clinical skill is required for conducting brief and targeted assessments and consultations in integrated care settings
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations to community audiences
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment
  • Experience developing, training, and supervising psychology trainees
