General:

The University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a full time CRNA or CAA to work as a faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, within the Department of Anesthesiology. The clinical service mission of the department is to assure the best possible outcomes for our patients having surgical operations and medical procedures. University of Colorado Denver and its affiliated hospitals have national physicians and other medical professionals delivering state of the art anesthesia care as well as the full range of perioperative care. The Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist help provide specialty anesthetic care to children undergoing surgical and medical procedures.

Responsibilities:

The CAA/CRNA will record appropriate events during the anesthetic on the anesthesia record, including vital signs, drugs dispensed, and procedures performed according to the established documentation guidelines.The CAA/CRNA will deliver the patient safely to the post anesthesia care unit and provide a brief report of the anesthesia care to the PACU nurse.The CAA/CRNA will update progress notes on patientsDepartmental requirements for billing purposes will be observed

The Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers care under the medical direction of an attending anesthesiologist. The CAA/CRNA is expected to assist in the delivery and documentation of pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.

The CAA/CRNA may be required to perform these services in the operating rooms, the procedure center, in radiology, and in some special procedure areas in specific emergency situations. The administration of anesthesia is limited where an anesthetic can be given safely. One or more attendings will always be available to supervise these services.

Since CAAs/CRNAs in this department are also faculty members of the School of Medicine, they are also expected to contribute to the teaching needs of the Department and the School.

The CAA/CRNA is to work collaboratively with all members of the anesthesia department, as well as nursing and other professional staff in the operating holding area, post anesthesia recovery rooms, and anesthesia work room. The CAA/CRNA is expected to comply with all departmental policies and procedures.

Salary and Benefits:

By effective hire date, the salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $165,000 - $200,000, not including variable (call/incentive) pay.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant or Registered Nurse Anesthetist educational program and active certification.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years pediatric experience CAA/CRNA preferred or pediatric nursing / clinical care experience preferred Experience in teaching Anesthesia.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Must have a strong working and theoretical knowledge of Anesthesia as well as experience in teaching Anesthesia. Selfdirects in contributing to meeting the Department's expectations as a group and maintaining the necessary requirements certification (CME credits) and licensurePossesses the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties position.
