Job Duties :

The East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full-time faculty position with strong expertise in obstetrical nursing. Faculty responsibilities include planning, teaching, and evaluating primarily face-to-face theory, lab, and clinical courses. This faculty position will be accountable for teaching courses related to obstetrical nursing and medical-surgical lab content for pre-licensure nursing students. The position may also involve direct supervision of students in the clinical setting. Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in obstetrical nursing.

Minimum Education/Experience :

  • Tenure track positions require a doctorate in nursing or related field, from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Non-tenure requires a Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing.
  • A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.
  • Teaching experience in obstetrical nursing.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience is required.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

  • A PhD in Nursing is preferred or a closely related discipline with a graduate degree in nursing or a MSN in Nursing Education.
  • NCC Credential in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) is preferred.
