Job Description
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Education, Health, and Human Behavior is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor-Psychology position. Preferred applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching in industrial/organizational psychology, and undergraduate psychological statistics and research methods as well as social psychology. The department seeks a strong scholar who can add to the diversity of research interests among our faculty and contribute to our collegial and student-focused department. Responsibilities will also include advising graduate students, chairing graduate theses, supervising student research, and serving on departmental, school and university committees.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this position must possess an earned doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate is required by the contract start date in August 2022. Evidence of, or potential for, successful graduate and undergraduate teaching, service at all levels of the university, and high-quality research is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach graduate Leadership and Motivation or Organizational Development; undergraduate Introduction to Industrial and Organizational Psychology; undergraduate Statistics and Research methods; and some combination of undergraduate Social Psychology, Psychology of Gender, Multicultural Psychology, Capstone in Psychology, and Careers in Psychology
- Demonstrated interest in teaching and working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Interest in engaging undergraduate students in research and experiential learning
- Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship
- Commitment to department and university collegiality through engagement in service activities
- Ability to contribute through interest, research, teaching, and/or service to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

This position offers outstanding benefits and a competitive salary commensurate with education and training.

Terms of Appointment
Full-time, 9-month (academic year), continuing, tenure-eligible appointment beginning August 2022. Summer teaching assignments may be available depending upon enrollment and funding.
