Job Description/Responsibilities
Library & Information Services (LIS) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications from collaborative, innovative, and student-centered candidates for the position of Open Educational Resources (OER), Scholarly Communications and Assessment Librarian- Assistant/Associate Professor. The OER, Scholarly Communications & Assessment librarian works collaboratively across Library & Information Services (LIS) to partner with campus units for coordinating the creation, education, and archiving of Open Educational Resources (OER), promotes scholarly communication practices on campus including management of the institutional repository, SPARK, and conducts assessment of library spaces and services. This position lives in the Access, Discovery & Systems division of LIS.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Contributes to the creation, education, and archiving of OER and promotion of OER initiatives
-Guides faculty in the discovery, creation, dissemination, identification, adoption, and assessment of open and affordable course content
-Works to enhance scholarly communication activities at SIUE, including management of the institutional repository, SPARK
-Works with other LIS faculty to conduct assessment for all library spaces and services
-Serves as a subject liaison to one or more departments
-Seeks out and works with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and perspectives, to support the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (DEIA) initiatives of LIS and the campus as a whole.
-Actively participates in the shared governance and service opportunities of LIS
-Engages in research and contributes through service at the institutional and professional levels suitable to the assignment and rank.

Minimum Qualifications
-Master's degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited institution or another relevant advanced degree
-Knowledge of Open Education Resources (OER) and their function in higher education
-Knowledge of current practices in scholarly communication
-Knowledge of assessment tools and/or platforms in academic libraries
-Demonstrated initiative and flexibility, as well as the ability to adapt to and work creatively in a rapidly changing environment
-Awareness of the challenges of and opportunities for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (DEIA) as they relate to librarianship and higher education
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to contribute to the profession via research and service

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience working in an academic library
