The University Police Department’s mission is to patrol the University properties helping to assure the safety and well being of students, faculty, staff and visitors to the campus by using the philosophy of community policing. The Department’s mission will be achieved through a proactive, community service approach to problem resolution and by offering crime prevention programs on safety, self-protection, substance abuse, sexual assault, and protection of personal belongings. This mission will be the charge of every employee of this department.Purpose of the Position:

Ability to complete a certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy and associated field training within one year of employment
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

Ability to collect and assemble pertinent facts, to exercise tact, initiative, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling law enforcement matters
Ability to write clear and concise reports
Demonstrated computer experience

Education Preferred: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or 60 credit hours towards a degree program. Current/Active Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Basic Law Enforcement (BLE) certification, to include successful completion of DCJS-approved field training.Salary Information:
