Job Summary Event Audiovisual Support Technician

The Event Audiovisual Support Technician is responsible for delivering fast, friendly, dependable, and customer-oriented audio/visual related services. Event Audiovisual Support Technicians are the "eyes and hands in the field", primarily supporting and assisting audio visual needs for the college. This position is responsible for setup, troubleshoot, operate, support, and break down audio visual equipment including but not limited to projectors, screens, video switchers, cameras, microphones, audio mixer boards, and public address systems. The Technician provides both user assistance and training for ABAC faculty, staff, and students in regard to audio visual event support needs. The AV Event Technician performs other job-related duties as assigned. This is a part time nineteen hour per week non-benefited position.
Responsibilities

    The Classroom Live Events AV Support Technician is responsible for coordinating the sound and video equipment used to conduct live events and providing Tier Two classroom audiovisual (AV) support.Works with the department's staff to coordinate planning and scheduling for and support for virtual events, class recordings and webcastsRecommends policies and procedures for the management of departmental equipment and operations.Coordinates periodic testing and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems to ensure proper operations.Provides management and leadership to Student employees and ensures that Student Media Technicians are properly trained and updated on new procedures.Operate soundboards and lighting consuls, play video recordings, enhance lighting, and coordinate graphics.Technicians must be able to workdays, nights, and weekends because they support events that take place during these times.Cool-headed, self-motivated individuals who think fast on their feet and enjoy technical support will thrive in this role
Qualifications:

    Consideration will be given to candidates with an AV-related certification, earned within the last three (3) years and A minimum of two (2) years of work experience with providing audiovisual technical support.A Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology or a related field from an accredited College or University preferred.Proven experience managing and handling media equipment for a large organization, preference for experience in higher education.Experience working with various computer technology including Windows and Mac OS maintenance and support.AV technicians troubleshoot all equipment issues in a timely manner. Successful technicians strive to exceed expectationsIt is common for technicians to lift 50 to 80 pounds individually, Furthermore, standing, walking, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces is a common requirement for AV techniciansExcellent Customer Service and Organizational Skills.
