Job Description The University of Missouri (MU) Office of Extension and Engagement’s distinct land-grant mission is to improve lives, communities and economies by producing relevant, reliable and responsive educational strategies throughout Missouri. POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will report directly to the Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR), and Senior Program Director of MU Extension Agriculture & Environment. The individual will be responsible for managing and coordination of operational activities within the program area. A&E has over 100 fulltime employees, and provides funding support for 220 employees throughout the state of Missouri. Responsibilities will include assisting the Associate Dean with program impact and administration, budget development and management, program assessment, liaising with internal and external constituencies, and staff leadership and supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Financial/Fiscal Management – working with Extension Finance & Human Resources and the partner fiscal operations units to manage the program’s financial resources and budgets, providing accountability to the operation, and developing new resources.Develop, administer, budget and maintain the Smith-Lever capacity funding. Verifying allowability of expenditures, act as key contact, and work with UM System controller’s office on federal revenue draws and end of year financial reporting.Project management liaison for large grants and contracts, as requested by the Associate Dean.Establish, nurture, and sustain relationships, communication, and collaboration between and among internal and external stakeholders. Program effectiveness, data analysis and management: oversee Program Area data needs. Including utilizing multiple University wide systems to analyze data to assist in increasing programmatic impact.Revenue generation and sustainability – in collaboration with the Associate Dean, will strategize with campus and field faculty and staff to increase revenue generation through diversification of funding, new funding sources, program income opportunities and establishing partnerships that lead to resource development. Training and guidance: provide training and guidance on strategic program initiatives to both campus and off campus personnel. Travel statewide to visit grant sites. Attend occasional out of state travel as needed by the program.

Salary

Salary Range: $62,000 - $118,752

Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications Internal applicant who has the ability to apply knowledge of Finance, Human Resources, organizational management, and general administration effectively to improve performance and impact of large statewide program. Administrative experience with NIFA Capacity funds, specifically the 3(b) Smith-Lever funding program is highly preferred.
