Pay Grade/Pay Range: 56 Hourly (non-exempt) - Minimum - $ 14.49 Midpoint - $ 21.15

Department/Organization: 209317 - Early College

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm

Job Summary: The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for building relationships with prospective students, parents, educators, school districts (public, private), organizations (e.g. homeschool), professional associations and any others in need of educational opportunities through UA Early College.

Additional Department Summary: Based out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the Recruiting Specialist will primarily recruit UA Early College students in the south Alabama region. The Recruiting Specialist will travel to various in-state events and out-of-state events, which includes overnight travel and travel to remote locations. The Recruiting Specialist will interact with a specific CRM (customer relationship management) system and respond to external and internal inquiries via the CRM.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling or related field with a minimum of one (1) year of equivalent experience in student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling or equivalent experience; OR a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling or equivalent experience. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: The ability to travel alone across the southeastern United States, sometimes overnight, up to 4 days per week; an interest in working with young people. Some evening and weekend work. Valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: The person must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Further, the person must demonstrate poise and the ability to relate incredibly well with middle and high school students, parents, and educators. The person must have the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people as well as possess the abilities to be a self-starter and independent worker.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior recruitment experience working with high school students
