The Office of New Student and Family Programs is seeking applications for the Director of New Student & Family Programs. Our programs provide a welcoming atmosphere, connect students and families to resources, promote academic success, acquaint students with institutional traditions and values, and foster a sense of Buccaneer pride.

Responsible to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Director of New Student & Family Programs provides leadership and oversight for the Office of New Student & Family Programs and ETSU Welcome Center. The Director of New Student & Family Programs has primary responsibilities for: planning, developing, and implementing new student transitions programs such as:

new student orientation;

the university’s extended orientation program (Preview);

the Buccaneer Involvement Guide (BIGs) program; and

parent and family programming;

all aspects of programing including:

supervision of New Student & Family Programs staff and Preview and Orientation Leaders (POLO);

chairing Orientation and Preview planning committees;

budget oversight and management;

development and maintenance of web/online orientation services; and

program evaluation;

establishing the strategic direction of New Student & Family Programs in collaboration with campus partners; research and analyze trends and external benchmarks to develop and administer campus-wide orientation activities;

developing a program that encourages partnerships with parents and families; and

fostering and building strong working relationships with staff, faculty and other campus stakeholders to promote student success.
