Data Analytics and Visualization Specialist

Salary: $42,485

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking to fill a full-time position in our Institutional Research Office. The Data Analytics and Visualization Specialist assists the Director of Institutional Research and Analysis with the Institutional Effectiveness and other assessment processes including enrollment management, post-graduation outcomes, and other analysis.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Utilizes algorithms and software development for computing approaches effectively to analyze and model data;
  • Supports College committees and administration by providing data visualization solutions for communicating the results of research and surveys that support decision-making;
  • Develops programmatic solutions to recurring data requests as appropriate;
  • Maintains accurate Microsoft Access databases for transfer-tracking information, student class survey results, commencement survey results and other data related to surveys and processes as needed;
  • Utilizes labor market software tools to effectively report local employment trends and labor market data;
  • Applies various methodologies to update databases with appropriate data information;
  • Assists in providing data in support of Perkins major efforts and related activities;
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests for information, compiles data, and generates and/or completes reports as directed;
  • Performs other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Director of Institutional Research and Analysis.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Associate's degree
  • Minimum of two(2) years’ related work experience
  • Computer database (especially MicrosoftAccess) experience
  • Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Higher Education

Mohawk Valley Community College has more than 800 full-time and part-time employees at our campuses in Utica and Rome, NY. We are located in the Central New York region at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains between Syracuse and Albany, NY in Oneida County.
