The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Augusta University invites applications for a tenure-track, academic year, faculty position in physics to begin in Fall 2022 at the Assistant Professor or higher rank. A doctorate in physics or a related field and postdoctoral research experience are required. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability for success in research with a strong potential to establish a robust, extramurally funded, and nationally recognized research program. We particularly seek an experimental or computational scientist who can participate in the department’s growth of biological physics, including mentorship of undergraduate research students. The ideal candidate would be able to mentor the thesis research of graduate students in the interdisciplinary MS in Biomolecular Science program. The successful candidate shall have a commitment to teaching excellence at all levels and is expected to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Salary and startup package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Current physics research includes biological physics, fluid dynamics, correlated electronic systems and magnetism; radiation dosimetry; medical physics; and physical computing.
