Columbus State University has an opening for an Admission Specialist in the Office of Admissions. This position is responsible for receiving and reviewing applications for admissions from prospective students, evaluating academic transcripts, test scores, and other admission documentation, and counseling students and families on the admission and enrollment process. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: receiving and reviewing applications for admission from prospective students; using current and appropriate admissions policies and procedures to determine eligibility for acceptance to the University; recording appropriate standardized testing scores; requesting missing scores; evaluating transcripts, credits, and standardized testing scores; communicating with applicants, students, and families though telephone, e-mail, and face-to face meetings in the Office of Admissions; following through on pending files to ensure all required documents for acceptance to the University are received; recording and maintaining of student files in compliance with FERPA; supporting front-line staff by responding to students who call or visit Enrollment Services; assisting with campus visitation for prospective students; performing highest level of customer service to students, parents, faculty and staff members; and all other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years' experience in an office environment or customer service, preferably in Higher Education. The successful candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills; the ability to read and interpret admissions policies and procedures and appropriately apply them with regard to accepting or denying admission to the University; initiative, sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in performing duties; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, faculty members, and others; the ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports; and a demonstrated proficiency with using a personal computer and software packages (i.e. e-mail, imaging, and Microsoft Office). Preferred Qualifications
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in an office environment or customer service in Higher Education is preferred. Proposed Salary
The annualized salary range for this position is $24,882 - $27,993 and includes full benefits. Required Documents to Attach
