Job Summary

Plan and oversee the operation of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) in providing facilities and programs in the areas of aquatics, fitness and other recreational opportunities for the Georgia Tech Community. Responsible for setting group and employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.This position will interact on a consistent basis with: students, student organizations, Institute and Student Affairs management and employees. This position typically will advise and counsel: Student Affairs Management, student organization leaders. This position will supervise: Campus Recreation Center management and staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Formulate strategic plans aimed at programs designed to provide for the recreational needs of the campus community.

Job Duty 2 -
Direct the formulation of the CRC operating budget; monitor performance relative to budget.

Job Duty 3 -
Develop and oversee implementation of CRC policies.

Job Duty 4 -
Plan and direct implementation of CRC promotional programs.

Job Duty 5 -
Organize CRC management structure, establish unit goals and objects, monitor progress and provide feedback.

Job Duty 6 -
Assure programs and use of facilities is in compliance with financial control and risk management guidelines.

Job Duty 7 -
Identify and act upon opportunities for use of facilities for special events resulting in CRC recognition and additional revenues.

Job Duty 8 -
Represent the CRC to the Campus Recreation Advisory Board and other campus organizations.

Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Master's Degree in Physical Education, Recreational Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Ten years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Application of required skills within a university environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This position requires knowledge of the theories and practices in recreation management to include intramural sports administration; fitness, aquatic and outdoor recreation programming. Additionally, skills in facility management, leadership, negotiation and communication and planning are required.
