Job Responsibilities

The instructor is responsible for accurate and quality delivery of the current CNA and/or phlebotomy curriculum in its entirety as required by state and national standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to course preparation, lecture and lab instruction via various delivery methods, clinical coordination and instruction, student record keeping and maintaining reporting deadlines as required by all program governing bodies. Provide continuous communication to students, faculty, and staff. Schedule certification exams appropriately. Maintain current provider certification and instructor credentials.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Current licensed RN/LPN who has 2 years of field nursing experience with at least 1 year in the provision of long-term care services. LPN with 1-year experience in caring for elderly or chronically ill patients. CMA with 5 years of experience in phlebotomy field. Currently and instructor through DHHS and/or be a CPI. Be a certified BLS Instructor.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or higher with equivalent work experience. Hold current instructor credentials for BLS, ACLS, PALS.

In order to build an active pool of qualified applicants, Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi, at a variety of locations, utilizing technology, and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college or secondary level.
