The Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science in the College of Engineering at The University of Toledo is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to perform research in wideband plasma impedance matching networks. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop research and scholarly programs with academic/industry partners and graduate/undergraduate students. This postdoctoral research associate will primarily be engaged with the theory and implementation of wideband matching networks using plasma technology. However, s/he will also have a chance to work with students and get involved in other research projects in the group. The initial appointment will be for one year but can be renewed upon mutual agreement. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field with the following skills:
Demonstrated knowledge in antenna, RF, and microwave designsExperience in EM simulation with tools such as HFSS, COMSOL, and ADSProficiency in working with high-frequency measurement equipment (VNA, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, etc.)Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
In addition, having any background (theory, simulation, or experiment) in low-temperature plasma is a big plus.Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Dr. Abbas Semnani in the Adaptive Radiofrequency and Plasma Lab (ARPL) at The University of Toledo. There may be possible high stress levels to conduct proposed research tasks and meet project deliverables on time.
