General Summary

TechZone and Student Technologies provides personal and institutional computer sales and service, software licensing, residential hall networking support, and technology orientation in conjunction with the Office of Technology Solutions.

The Business Services Coordinator independently plans, manages, organizes, directs, supervises, and personally performs professional business activities in accordance with the principles and procedures of retail operations, ISU, and the Office of Technology Solutions. This is a front-line position managing effective operations of a small office. This position has responsibility to autonomously perform complex professional tasks related to departmental activities inside TechZone and with related teams under the Office of Technology Solutions. The position also serves as front-end customer support responding in-person and electronically with students, faculty, staff, and the University community.

Required Qualifications

A. Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.

OR

B. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.

OR

C. A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months), as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or an Associate’s degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

Desired Qualifications

1. Three years of responsible accounting and/or business experience, one year of which was at an administrative level

2. Ability to work independently or with minimal oversight

3. Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite

4. Demonstrated experienced analyzing information and using critical thinking skills and independent judgment to draw conclusions and/or make decisions

5. Strong interpersonal and communications skills

6. Experience designing and implementing budgets

7. Experience working with personnel (interviewing, hiring, basic HR understanding)

8. Experience working with confidential information

9. Experience in a retail environment

Work Hours

8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday; occasional work beyond regular office hours required

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
3. Distinguish colors on a monitor.
