Alvernia University’s College of Business, Communication, and Leadership invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the ACBSP accredited Business Accounting program beginning January 2022.

Candidates must hold a PhD or DBA in accounting.

Required Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess a commitment to excellence in teaching with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse pedagogical approaches in varied learning environments, have a demonstrated commitment to service, and have a defined research agenda. With Alvernia’s new state-of-the art Reading CollegeTowne facility, our technology driven classrooms and business lab, and the O’Pake Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, we encourage and support scholar practitioners who actively engage in practice, action research, and applied research. The candidate should have an appropriate mix of academic credentials and business experience to ensure an appropriate blend of both business theory and practice required to meet program goals and objectives. Candidates should be knowledgeable about the new educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam beginning January 2022 and be prepared to enhance the accounting curriculum as required.

For tenure-track consideration, candidates must have an earned doctorate and evidence of scholarly output, broadly defined. Teaching assignments may include traditional day, graduate and adult education accelerated courses, off-site corporate education, and online/blended delivery formats. Commitment to high-impact practices such as service-learning, experiential learning, action and applied research, and use of innovative pedagogy is expected.
