The SCHOOL OF CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY at the GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at all ranks, with opportunities for joint appointments in other departments of science, engineering, and computing to facilitate interdisciplinary research and scholarship. While all areas of research will be considered for exceptional candidates, a focus on synthetic or polymer chemistry, biochemistry or chemical biology, theoretical and computational chemistry, or quantum science is preferred. The School has vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs and an extensive research portfolio, with more than 350 undergraduate majors, 150 graduate students, and 80 postdoctoral researchers and technical staff members. Its faculty, staff, and students participate in a wide range of exciting and collaborative research programs aided by extensive modern facilities on a dynamic urban campus in the Midtown section of Atlanta, Georgia
We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at all ranks, with opportunities for joint appointments in other departments of science and engineering to facilitate interdisciplinary research and scholarship. While all areas of research may be considered, a focus on synthetic or polymer chemistry, biochemistry or chemical biology, theoretical and computational chemistry, or quantum science is preferred. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of trainees. This position has components of education, scientific research, and service, as a member of the academic faculty at Georgia Tech.
The occupant of this position will conduct and supervise research, secure external funding for this research, publish its results in peer-reviewed journals, teach undergraduate and graduate students in these areas, mentor trainees and younger colleagues, and serve on designated committees.
