Job Summary

Provide high-level operational and technical support for the Registrar¿s Office. Oversee daily operations in the technology area and manage all special projects. Work closely with the Associate Registrar-Technology to coordinate enterprise systems functions with the Office of Information Technology (OIT)/ Engineering Information Systems (EIS) and other Enrollment Management units. Oversee effective application of Georgia Tech academic rules and regulations as well as Board of Regents requirements, and applicable Federal and State laws. Oversee development and implementation of assessment activities and business process improvements. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations for assigned staff.

This position will interact on a regular basis with: Senior leadership and staff in the Registrars Office. This position typically will advise and counsel: Functional and technical staff in the Registrars Office, functional and technical staff in Enrollment Management, and technical staff in OIT/EIS. This position will supervise: Assigned IT staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Manage key daily technology operations in the Registrars Office. Ensure effective and timely communication within the Registrars Office and with other Enrollment Management units about performance of all Student Information System (SIS) related systems.


Job Duty 2 -
Work closely with the Sr. Associate/Sr. Assistant/Assistant Registrars to ensure that daily operations run smoothly and that special projects are documented, well planned, and effectively executed.


Job Duty 3 -
Take the functional lead in all projects that involve Banner enhancements, websites, transcripts, third party software products that interact with Banner, student data, workflow, imaging, and deployment of new technology. Take the functional lead in identifying untapped functionality in Banner and recommend projects to the Sr. Associate Registrar. Assist in the development of and management of the yearly technology plan.


Job Duty 4 -
Oversee report preparation for internal and external audiences. Work closely with Sr. Associate Registrar and Associate Registrar on Data Governance related projects both internally and as part of the University System of Georgia (USG) initiative.


Job Duty 5 -
Provide support for the Parchment system (transcript ordering and PDF format) and other 3rd party systems and integrations (ADC, GAtracs, etc.). Ensure testing and documentation remains current.


Job Duty 6 -
Provide training and development opportunities for Registrar managers and staff in technical areas such as SQL and use of other technologies. Participate in providing Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training for campus constituents.

Job Duty 7 -
Supervise assigned technology positions by monitoring and evaluating performance and providing professional development opportunities.


Job Duty 8 -
Represent the Registrars Office on campus committees and working groups and in state-wide and nation-wide arenas.


Job Duty 9 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelors Degree.

Required Experience
Five years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Preferred degree in management, personnel management, information systems, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
Requires knowledge of and experience with a student information system such as Banner and products such as DegreeWorks that are part of the larger technology ecosystem in a modern Registrar¿s Office. Must also have a sound working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, email, data storage products, etc. that are in use in a modern office. This would also include use of teleconferencing products such as Teams, Bluejeans, etc.
