The Events & Conferences Facility Coordinator is responsible for the services necessary to properly satisfy the requirements of all events and conferences. This includes, but is not limited to, working with clients to manage their requests for room layout and equipment to include risers, portable stages, lecterns, sound equipment, audio visual equipment, lighting and all other technical services, etc. The Events & Conferences Facility Coordinator serves as liaison between University technical staff and the technical staffs of outside events. The Events & Conferences Facility Coordinator is responsible for providing all event staff and technical staff to properly service events and for instructing this staff on all working rules and safety regulations. Additional responsibilities include the management and upkeep of all equipment under the Department’s control and for maintaining specific event records and inventory of equipment used and related labor expenses.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:
Required: Demonstrated ability to organize work in an efficient manner. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Ability to ask questions to seek better understanding. Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when working in stressful situations. Ability to withstand physical exertion involving walking, lifting, climbing, crawling, and other work related to event activities. Possess the following interpersonal skills: communicate verbally with clarity, listen to client’s needs and translate them as those needs pertain to event setups, assertiveness and problem solving skills to seek resolutions when conflicts occur. Knowledge of stage/technical safety regulations. Knowledge of general maintenance and repair. Ability to work evenings and weekends Preferred: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent Experience Required: Experience in event & conference operations. Experience in the use of AV and lighting equipment. Experience with event management software. Experience with general maintenance and repair on equipment and supplies. Experience in the use of hand and power tools.Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :
Education Preferred: Associate Degree and/or BA Degree Experience Preferred: Experience in the use and maintenance of professional audio and lighting systems, and theater operations technical equipment. Experience in the use of EMS and Conference Programmer.Salary Information:
