Effectively implement the University president’s vision for a world class campus that attracts, inspires, and bonds people to CNU. We will continuously monitor and maintain existing and future turf areas on campus to provide high quality full- service turf maintenance on all designated areas. We will ensure that these primary duties will emphasis and enhance aesthetic appearance, and value promote environmental responsibility, and be economically feasible.

Purpose of the Position:

As a Senior Groundskeeper for the Grounds Department, you will be a working crew member and lead crew member, coordinating with supervisors, each daily task. You will have responsibility of maintaining campus turf areas through advanced assignments related to grounds maintenance while striving for a safe workplace. Performing other duties as assigned to facilitate operations within the department.

Required:

Advanced knowledge in grounds maintenance related to turf grass maintenance practices

Advanced knowledge in grounds maintenance equipment use

Advanced knowledge of grounds equipment maintenance

Advanced knowledge of pests, diseases, and watering requirements for turf grass

Advanced skills to lead small working crews

Basic writing and verbal skills

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

Possess and maintains a valid driver’s license

Must be a VDACS Registered Technician

Experience Required:

Advanced experience of turf maintenance.

Advanced experience of daily, safe, and efficient use of turf maintenance equipment

Advanced experience of turf care requirements relative to pesticide applications, watering needs, and maintenance

Advanced experience at a landscape company in grounds maintenance

Advanced experience in grounds equipment maintenance

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Experience Preferred:

Experience leading a small crew

Grounds maintenance experience at a university or resort

Conditions of Employment:
