Departmental Objective:

To secure gift support for the University through the cultivation and solicitation of its alumni, friends and other constituents to address current institutional priorities and provide support for the future through endowment.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will assist in maximizing the value derived from University fund raising/alumni information systems by programming, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining database driven applications, interfaces, reports, lists, and to assist with configuration, testing and training of the use of fund raising/alumni information systems focusing on supporting the needs of the Advancement team, programs and other constituents to support a growing program and emerging comprehensive campaign.

Required:

Advanced technical and analytical skills with the ability to process, interpret, and analyze constituent data to support and enhance fund raising goals and donor/alumni relationships.

Ability to work with end users to enhance their business processes and strategies through the development of ad-hoc reports, lists, and analytical/visualization solutions.

Ability to quickly develop and maintain collegial working relationships with both technical and non-technical staff.

Ability work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Excellent attention to detail and outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to help foster a culture of data sharing and data-informed decision making as well as improve the data management to ensure accuracy and accountability of data.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or high school diploma or equivalent with equivalent experience that equates to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

Experience Required: Experience working with and maintaining relational databases, such as Oracle (PL/SQL) or Microsoft SQL Server. Experience with developing Business Intelligence solutions (reports, dashboards). Proficiency in PC productivity tools, such as MS Office Suite. Proficiency in working with spreadsheet software.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Education Preferred: Post graduate coursework in computer science or related field.

Experience Preferred: Experience working in a fundraising environment. Experience working in a higher education environment. Experience working with end users to develop or modify business processes to increase operational efficiency. Experience with ERP systems such as Ellucian Banner Advancement, Raisers Edge, or other modern CRM in an integrated systems environment. Familiarity with CASE Reporting Standards. Experience using Excel.
