Position Summary:

The Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) Libraries invites applications from enthusiastic, collaborative, and service-oriented candidates for the position of Campus Librarian. The position reports to the Director of ABAC Libraries with emphasis on management, Alma/PRIMO systems, customer service, and library instruction. The position is responsible for administering a broad range of academic library functions.

The successful candidate will be located on the ABAC Bainbridge campus and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as assisting with services at additional locations. Some travel between campuses may be required.

This position provides strategic direction for ABAC’s Bainbridge campus library, which includes the implementation of programs and the ongoing development of services for faculty and students. In addition, the Campus Librarian conducts outreach and education efforts and collaborates with campus partners in order to increase the visibility and impact of the ABAC Library in Bainbridge and to promote an institutional culture that values and rewards cohesion and cooperation.

The ideal candidate will provide expertise on customer service, best practices in the library, library instruction including information literacy, and management. This position will be an integral part of the ABAC Libraries, joining a highly collaborative team of accomplished professionals who provide faculty consultations, literacy expertise, project development, and outreach including social media.

Responsibilities:

    Coordinate the growth and development of instructional literacy on the Bainbridge campus, in collaboration with the Tifton campus.Oversee employees including federal work study students and library assistants.Manage the library’s Alma and Galileo/GIL resources including reporting data to the director.Maintain and build collaborative partnerships with research and administrative units on campus. Provide outreach programs to the faculty and staff that facilitate learning and scholarly activities.Monitor advancements in scholarly communication and communicate the implications to library teams.
Required Qualifications:

    ALA-­accredited master's degree Two years of relevant experienceStrong communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:

    Demonstrated knowledge of institutional cataloging systems (ALMA)Classroom/library instruction experienceManagerial/supervisory experience
