Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for Workforce Initiatives & Specialty Training, the Research Administrator will work jointly with the CWD staff and program evaluator to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement research projects with a focus on behavioral health workforce development. The Research Administrator will be responsible for the design, collection, and analysis of evaluative project data. They will assist with formulating research objectives, programs, and priorities; and carrying out funded research initiatives for the CWD. They will also be responsible for preparing progress reports and grant applications, writing scientific papers and publications, presenting research findings, and participating in other research-related activities, as required.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate the short- and long-term impacts of WJC’s workforce development initiatives.   
  • Create tools to collect data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Perform data cleaning, data management, and data analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of program evaluation data and safeguard the confidentiality of research subjects.
  • Use creativity and knowledge to develop, enhance, and improve existing program evaluation methodologies, processes, and approaches.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support research projects and proposals.
  • Prepare reports for submission to granting agencies and funders.
  • Prepare materials for Human Subjects Committee review.
  • Prepare proposals for new research-related activities, including assisting in the preparation of grant applications and contract proposals.
  • Write scientific articles and manuscripts for publication and presentation.
  • Present research results in meetings, seminars, conferences, and related settings.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive and productive relationships with students, staff, faculty, internal departments and programs, and external partner agencies.
  • Work as part of a team to develop and implement project plans and timelines and ensure that project deliverables are high-quality and completed on time.
  • Perform other related administrative duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in a social sciences field, program evaluation, or educational research from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant research experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and multicultural competence in an educational, research, and work environment.
  • Ability to interact and work well with individuals from diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of data collection methodologies such as survey design, structured and open-ended interviews, focus groups, and observations.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and methods and their application to research.
  • Familiarity with database management programs and statistical software such as SPSS and Qualtrics
  • Excellent management, organizational, and written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Ability to design, organize, and coordinate scientific research projects.
  • Ability to use editing and publishing tools effectively; and produce high-quality spreadsheets, reports, and other documents, as required.
  • Applicant must be able to assume employment in the U.S. without College sponsorship.
