Position Summary

The Youth Programs Manager is focused on achieving the following results for the Division of Athletics and Recreation: Lead, manage and report upon youth programming efforts within the Division of Athletics & Recreation, including PASS Camp, School Days Off, Learn to Play Programs, Field Trips and other programs as assigned. Programming is to be managed to the core values of the Ritchie Center with an emphasis on safety, service, quality, sales, and accountability.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the administration and execution of the University of Denver's Youth Programs. This includes achieving annual PASS Camp revenue of $650,000+, $125,000+ in School Days off and $175,000+ Learn to Play Programs and camps.

  • Create and maintain program lesson plans, outlines, and/or processes for School Days Off, PASS Camp and Learn to Play Programs and Camps.
  • Ensure all youth programs and/or events are set-up in RecTrac and ready for registration a minimum of 90 days prior to start date.
  • Responsible for providing initial and on-going training for youth programs staff to ensure that all policies, procedures and operating protocols are understood and executed.
  • Ensure that youth programs staff have completed necessary certifications/trainings and audit records quarterly to prevent non-compliance.
  • Responsible for creating show on the road and marketing at various university events, schools and community events.
  • Responsible for conducting an annual evaluation of program processes and procedures.
  • Manage youth programs revenue/expense budget in a fiscally responsible manner and achieve approved fiscal goals.
  • Ensure all work orders or conversion requests are submitted a minimum of four (4) weeks prior to program/event date.
  • Ensure programs have adequate supplies. Responsible for purchasing program supplies in accordance with University Purchasing Policies.
  • Create, implement and follow sales plans for PASS camp, School Days Off, and Learn to Play Programs and Camps.
  • Work with program area Assistant Director to accurately develop, forecast, and analyze program budgets.
  • Responsible for developing positive relationships with customers and staff. Respond to all customer inquiries and complaints within a timely (48 hours) manner.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood Borne Pathogen.
  • Early Childhood Physical Education and Youth Sport Program Knowledge.
  • Work Schedule
    Position will be required to work a varied schedule will include evenings, nights, and weekends.

    Salary Grade Number
    The salary grade for the position is 8.

    Salary Range
    The salary range for this position is $47,000 - $50,000.

    The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
