The Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama is seeking a candidate for a tenured Associate or Full Professor position in Economics in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Legal Studies. Primary duties include teaching economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, engaging in a research program that generates external funding and results in articles in high-quality scholarly publications, and performing service as assigned by the Department, College, and University. Required Qualifications: (1) A doctoral degree in economics or a closely related field; (2) a demonstrated record of research published in high-quality journals and consistent external funding; (3) demonstrated high quality teaching.
Preferred Qualifications: Experimental and behavioral scholars whose work focuses on any topic will be given full consideration, but those whose research overlaps with education, health, or other quality of life issues are especially encouraged to apply.
Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and achievements.

The economics program offers degrees at the undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. levels. Our Masters programs include a full-time MBA, a STEM-pathway to the MBA, a weekend executive MBA program, and a one-year MA in Economics and MS in Finance. The department offers an excellent research environment including generous travel support, an active seminar series, and Ph.D. graduate research assistants. The Culverhouse College of Business was established in 1919 and is accredited AACSB International. The College has state-of-the art facilities to support research and teaching, including multimedia classrooms and the Bruno Business Library. The College is also home to a world-class Business Analytics Lab, Statistics Consulting and Research Lab, and a newly-established TIDE Lab to support faculty research activities. The University of Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa, a city of about 100,000 people, located an hour’s drive from Birmingham (a metropolitan area with about 1 million people).
