STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility for evenings/weekends on occasion to support student events.

MINIMUM SALARY: $55,816/year

*Current benefit eligible employees will be placed within the pay range based on their current rate/range.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the growth and development of the NWTC student entrepreneurship center. The Program Coordinator will coordinate the activities of the Center by working collaboratively with students, mentors, faculty, economic development entities, and the business community. The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the programming, marketing, consulting, and the operation of the business center by coordinating services and business startup assistance to students and other NWTC connected startups.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

    Oversee the day-to-day operation of the business center facility, including marketing the services and facility to NWTC students and connected startups Determine performance objectives and monitor progress toward attainment of goals
    Assist with the development and planning of center budgetDevelop tools and processes for program management and innovation effortsOversee the accelerator cohort teams to include benchmarking on goal setting, program advancement, curriculum support, and mentorship support.Assist with business plan and pitch competitions to include program development, outreach support, logistics, financial budget, and marketingDevelop and maintain student intake process, level of support, counseling sessions, and goal attainment toward business developmentDesign, develop and implement appropriate programs and activities to address those needs and to meet the goals and objectives of the center’s strategic plan.Recommend organizational development strategies that will promote and support student business education and development.Develop strong partnership program to foster and further develop relationships that will offer opportunities for studentsProvide direct business counseling and coaching to NWTC student and related business startups including food processors at NWTC regional locationsIdentify funding sources for the operation of the center and expansion opportunitiesAssist in the development of the center’s strategy to effectively market the center on campus and districtwideIdentify and nurture business opportunities and partners to maintain strong collaborations across the startup ecosystemDevelop and maintain relationships with area businesses interested in supporting student startupsAttend professional development training courses as needed to remain competent and current.Work closely with faculty from across campus to support student – faculty relationships in business feasibilityPromote the center and its programs at every available opportunity, with specific responsibilities for recruitment and promotion

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education - Required: Associate degree Preferred: Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience: Five years of related experience preferably as a business startup, business consulting, successful business management, or practical experience in entrepreneurship education and training. Must have demonstrated competency and experience in delivering entrepreneur and small business training and education. Familiar or experience with concepts such as Lean Startup, Business Model Generation or other startup coaching models.

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
