The Marketing Communication Manager is responsible for assisting with the creation, implementation, and oversight of marketing and communications programs that effectively describe and promote the institution and its academic programs and initiatives. The role supports the development and supervision of all marketing and communications strategies for the university including the ability for effective storytelling. The manager will help with maintaining the brand integrity of the university and conduct media relations outreach to include developing and nurturing relationships with news reporters with a goal of strategically positioning the institution as a leader in higher education.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates informative and timely content (Press releases, magazine articles, internal communication) .
- Graphic design of brochures, infographics, or other promotional materials.
- Work with external partners and internal faculty/staff/students to produce marketing collateral in accordance with brand messaging and guidelines.
- Identify faculty and student success stories
- Supports social media management and photography needs
- Assist with developing, managing and maintenance of all online communication channels including website and social media.
- Manages the research and development of content for publication.
- Manages information dissemination to include developing communication plans and schedules.
- Oversees the preparation of presentations and/or strategic content.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on similar industry activities; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities
- Manages staff member in the day-to-day performance of job.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field of study
- 5 years of direct work experience in a marketing management capacity
- Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management
- 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
- Previous marketing and communication experience at an institution of higher learning a plus (but not required)
