This project is part of the Borderlands Research Institute Undergraduate Mentorship Program (BUMP). The focus of BUMP is to better prepare undergraduate students for serving in the industry. This mentorship job includes participating in projects overseen by graduate students and university faculty. In addition to carrying out project duties, undergraduate students will attend monthly BUMP meetings, develop effective writing skills, and present their projects over the course of their project term. This research is part of the TPWD pronghorn restoration project. Current projects include determining a carrying capacity estimate for pronghorn based on vegetation, comparing pronghorn forage production to cattle grazing regimes, and studying pronghorn movements in relation to fences and habitat corridors.

•Help conduct lab work to prepare and analyze vegetation samples
1 September 2021-31 August 2022 (Beginning and ending dates can be flexible).
•Field work will be conducted in Marfa grasslands and SRSU campus.
•Lab work will be conducted at the Range and Animal Science building on SRSU campus.
