    OFFICE PROFILE:

    The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of traditional undergraduate students to Concordia University Irvine.

    ROLE:

    Responsible for recruiting prospective students and maintaining contact throughout the admissions funnel. The Junior Admissions Counselor will evaluate applications from prospective students and make recommendations for admissions decisions. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.

    APPOINTMENT:
    • Recommended by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions
    • Approved by the Vice President of University Operations and Athletics
    STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:
    • Report to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions for daily supervision
    • Interact and function cooperatively with Enrollment Services staff and other campus personnel
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

    1. Manage all recruitment activities for new freshmen from a small geographic territory or assigned student population. Be responsible and accountable for meeting enrollment target based on University goals.
    2. Maintain contact with prospective students in assigned territory through mail, phone calls and personal visits throughout the application and enrollment process.
    3. Review completed applications and make admissions recommendations to the Director and Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions
    4. Conduct financial aid appointments to discuss CUI cost and financial aid offer with prospective students and their families.
    5. Present effective small and large group presentations of the university to prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, pastors and youth leaders both on and off campus
    6. Represent Concordia at off-campus college fairs and high school visits. These events could potentially require evening and weekend responsibility.
    7. Attend and assist with on-campus recruitment events throughout the year
    8. Monitor the main UG Admissions email Respond to emails or forward to the appropriate contact.
    9. Greet university guest at the front desk and monitor main UG Admissions telephone line.
    10. Assist admissions counselors, the Assistant Director, and Director with duties as necessary
    11. Every contact or touch point, both in bound and outbound, is logged in the CRM for accurate reporting of communication to be used both internally and externally.
    12. Individually tracking progress towards territory goals using the CRM and data in all funnel stages.
    13. Other duties may be assigned.
    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is required;
    • One to two years related experience and/or training is preferred

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret university procedures, general information, educational and professional publications, synodical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, faculty, administration, students, families, and/or the general public
    • Ability to speak and write in Spanish (preferred)

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
